Save a vehicle to my favorites?
From the Car Detail screen, tap the top–right button (the one with the arrow in it), and then select “Add To Favorites”.
Retrieve a stored favorite vehicle?
From the AutoMaker screen or the More screen, tap the “Favorites” button, which is at the bottom of the screen and marked with a star. Scroll through your favorites as needed, and tap on the vehicle of your choice to bring up its details.
Save a vehicle search?
After you tap “Search”, and see the results of your search, you can save your selections (Make & Model, Style and Price Range) by tapping the “Save Search” button at the top right. This saves your search criteria — when you later retrieve your search, the results will be updated with the latest list of vehicles that meet your criteria.
Retrieve a vehicle search?
From the AutoMaker screen, tap “Retrieve Saved Search”. Tap the search you want to rerun, and the latest results will appear.
Share a vehicle with my friends?
From any Car Detail screen, tap the top–right button (the one with the arrow in it), and then select “Share via E–Mail”.
Share this app with my friends?
Tap the “More” button at the bottom of the AutoMaker screen. Scroll down to the “Share App” section and then select “E-mail App to a Friend”.
Compare two vehicles?
There are two ways to compare vehicles: 1) From the AutoMaker screen, tap “Favorites”. Tap “Compare” at the top left. You can then select any two vehicles from your favorites. As you select a vehicle, a check mark will appear to its right. Once you have selected two vehicles, tap “Done” at the top right. After the data for both vehicles loads, you’ll be taken directly to the comparison screen..... 2) From any of the Car Detail screens for a particular vehicle, tap “Compare Vehicles” at the bottom. When the Compare Vehicles screen appears, tap “+ Second Vehicle” near the top of the screen. You will then be able add a second vehicle to compare by using AutoMaker. From any of your second vehicle’s detail screens, click “Compare This Vehicle” to return to the Compare Vehicles screen with your two vehicles’ information shown side–by–side.
Exit compare mode?
Tapping “Done” at the top right will exit the Compare Vehicles screen, returning you either to the Favorites screen or to the Car Detail screen from which you first tapped “Compare Vehicles”.

AutoMaker is a tool that allows you easily locate information about a new car. From it, you can: 1) Find a vehicle by searching among makes, models, styles, and price ranges..... 2) Find a vehicle by entering a VIN..... 3) Recall a vehicle from your History..... 4) Save a search..... 5) Save a vehicle to your Favorites
AutoMaker History?
AutoMaker History is a list of the vehicles you have most recently researched. You can use it to quickly access data about those vehicles without reentering any information.

Do I need WiFi or phone connectivity to use the app?
Yes. Connectivity by WiFi or cellular network is required for the AAA Auto Buying Tools app to work.
Can I access AAA Auto Buying Tools on the web?
Yes. AAA Vehicle information and Auto Buying Services vary on a regional basis. Visit https://www.aaa.com/autobuying for additional details.
Can I call for roadside assistance?
Yes. Tap “More” at the bottom right of the AutoMaker screen. Under “Contact Us” you will find “Roadside Assistance”. Tap it to display the “Roadside Assistance” screen, which includes a button you can press to initiate a call.
Do I have to create a profile?
No. You only need a profile if you plan to use the app to make Roadside Assistance calls.
What if the vehicle I am looking for is not listed?
While we do our best to provide information about as many vehicles as possible, you may occasionally find vehicles that are not listed. Should that happen, we recommend tapping “Contact AAA” from the AutoMaker screen to speak with an Auto Buying representative.
What is MSRP?
MSRP is the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price for a vehicle. It is commonly referred to as the vehicle’s “Sticker Price”.
What if I don’t know my membership number?
If the AAA Auto Buying Tools app asks you for a membership number and you don’t know it, you can: 1) Cancel the screen asking you for your membership number..... 2) Return to Auto Maker..... 3) Tap “Contact AAA” at the top right. This will provide you with information on contacting your AAA club about Auto Buying.
What happens to my feedback?
Every feedback form we receive is read by AAA and routed to the appropriate recipient. We use the feedback in aggregated form to steer future enhancements to the AAA Auto Buying Tools app.
What are location services used for?
Location services are used only in association with calls for Roadside Assistance. Providing your vehicle’s location when you make a call helps us provide you with better service.
Why can’t I get a VIN to scan?
The scanning function is most effective for VIN barcodes printed on window stickers. It may not work with a VIN sticker affixed to a curved surface. Sun glare may also adversely impact the scanning function.
Can I use the scanner to scan other barcodes?
No it is designed to work with VIN barcodes only.
Why does a VIN entry sometimes fail to return data?
Occasionally a dealer may receive a new vehicle that is not yet listed in our system. Should this occur try locating the vehicle by make and model.
Why are there so many data fields?
The Loan Calculator is designed to estimate payments as accurately as possible. The more information it can collect the more accurate its final calculation will be. Many of the values are not required so if you don’t know a value don’t worry.
What do I do if I don’t know a value?
Every data field has an “i” button that provides guidance. Each button provides information about the definition of the field and many provide suggested values. If you’re still not sure what to enter most fields can be left blank.
Which data fields are required?
Loan Rate Loan Duration and Vehicle Price are the only required fields. |
