Just this past week my wife and I finalized a second car purchase in the last 14 months using AAA's car buying service, and both times we've used Paul Leeman as our agent. We've been AAA members for over 35 years, but it hasn't been until November of 2010 that we decided to let AAA handle the details of our purchases. He explained how the program worked, as I've never used this type of service before, and after 
I gave him my requirements, said that he would do everything he could to make it happen.

Gerry, explained that he could not meet my budget of $10,000.00, but, was pretty sure he could make the deal at $12,000.00, as all would be contingent on my trade of a 2000, Toyota, Tundra.

Gerry, was able to get $5,000.00, for my trade which surprised me, with the gas prices going up.

I wanted to thank you for making the purchase of the 2112 Mazda 3 new car so effortless and easy.  It was fun buying the car using AAA Car Buying Service for the second time.

I used Consumer Reports to find three Cars which I felt would fit my needs, then went to each dealer, drove each car, and had each dealer give me a price quote.  I narrowed down the choice to the Mazda 3 mainly because of the 40 mph, blue touch phone, and similar features to my old

Pontiac Vibe, 30 mph.

Here is how you helped me:

Mazda Car Dealer (Not the one you used) did the old 4 square routine, and how much I wanted to pay per month, and tried to hard sell me the car I test drove, when I really wanted another color and moon roof.

You were able to find the exact car I wanted, plus I feel I saved versus dealer deal, $1000 down,

$1200 for moon roof with Bose speakers, additional $1000 trade in, and over $85.00 per month in financing charges, for a total savings of I guesstimate at $3200.00.

Most importantly I did not have to hassle back and forth with the dealer to negotiate deal.  It was easy.

The Cardinaelway Mazda Person you dealt with called me to follow up on and car questions, and the dealer also, added Nitrogen to tires, seal coating, floor mats, and a full gas tank. Impressive.

All of this would not have happened without your expertise, and knowledge of how to get the best deal for an AAA member.  Thank You.

I haven't talked to you in a while, hope all is going well and that the gas prices stabilize soon.
I just wanted to drop you a note about the outstanding experience we recently had with Paul
Leeman in the Paradise Valley office. Jean, my wife, was past ready to trade cars which is an
exercise I hate and always feel that I had lost when it was over. We were in the Paradise Valley
office for some maps and to get some information about river cruises when we noticed, really for
the first time, the car buying office. We of course knew the car buying program was available
but had really never given it much thought, but we took a card anyway as Paul was out of the
office.


A couple of days later we called Paul to set up an appointment to discuss Jean's needs and desires
for a new vehicle. Paul gathered a lot of information over the phone which essentially indicated
that Jean was ready for a crossover vehicle. Well, the fun really began when we met Paul in his
office, the presentation was both informative as well as amazing. A few key points: Paul had 5 vehicles to review that basically met Jean's criterion. Paul presented each vehicle without bias, truly "listening"t o the customer's wishes as there was no brand afliliation as far as Paul was concerned
We learned that AAA has a shop in town to inspect and review used cars
We learned that AAA has an inventory of used cars on hand that could be shopped if something
were needed immediately. We learned that AAA has approximately 18 partners who will purchase the used car based on
Paul's evaluation, sight unseen
We leamed that a Cadillac SRX with all the proper accessories at the right price with a
reasonable trade-in value paid for the current car could be obtained in 1 Day!
We learned this could all be done at one place, with no pressure, factual answers to all of our
questions by someone who enjoys what he does and is able to put himself into the clients shoes
to understand their needs and fears.


One final key point, Paul understood that the car was to be Jean's and not mine, so his focus was
on Jean as it was her car not on me as the "Man of the household.


The experience was excellent, the service beyond imagination and I just felt it was important to
send you a note to tell you how well your team is performing in the field. I can't imagine buying
a new car any other way in the future, the process is simply amazing and so very client oriented.
The vehicle is beautiful, Jean loves it and I may even get to drive it soon.

I gotta tell you!!  And thank you again for getting me the vehicle of my dreams.  We just took a trip to Window Rock, AZ on the Navajo nation and took some supplies with us.  I was worried about having a bigger vehicle with a smaller engine. Well, we went up Ox-Bow (Rye to Payson) at 65-70 mph. Topped the rim at 65 and came home by way of the Salt River Canyon and again the truck didn't slow down a bit, except for the detours on 260. What a truck and we averaged 26 mpg on the whole trip.  Great Truck.

It was our intent to pay cash for the car out of an investment account of my wife's.  Because we could not get the cash for about a week, Mr. Wilkinson had to figure out how we could keep the car until the check arrived.

 

Just in time we found out that my wife had received some bad advice from the account manager about the tax liability on this withdrawal.  We then had to call Mr. Wilkinson and tell him we would have to finance the vehicle instead of paying cash for it.  Despite these speed bumps Mr. Wilkinson remained very positive in his dealings with us and helped us avoid getting stressed by the obstacles with a wonderful sense of humor.  I assure you that in the future, whenever I know someone is looking for a new or used car I will mention AAA's car buying program and if they live in this area I most assuredly will recommend the use of Mr. Wilkinson's services.

You were my knight in shining armor on Monday when my very first claim with my new AAA extended warranty was denied.  I had carefully planned that my original warranty and the waiting period on the new one would overlap by over the 1000 mile requirement.  In my panic, I studied the contract until the mileage quoted on the contract didn't match the mileage I had given the sales person. The vehicle rides almost like a Cadillac and during my trip to St. George Utah, the gas mileage was or has got to 22 miles per gallon. On the way back, I got gas just before going through the Lake Mead area and didn't get gas until I reach Wickenburg. Please keep in mind that I usually fill up at 1/2 tank while traveling. It was at 1/2 tank reaching Wickenburg. At the time of this writing I still have above 1/2 tank and I have been back since Friday. The vehicle feels a little bigger than the old 20078, however it drives like a charm.

I wanted to write you and let you know about the outstanding experience I had working with Carl Rispoli last week while purchasing my new car, a 2011 Subaru Forester.  I had paid for my first vehicle with cash almost 12 years ago and have never financed a vehicle before this past week.  I am recently a graduate student and post-doctoral researcher, which means I didn't spend the last 15 years generating a large income or very good credit.  When it became clear to me that my vehicle had to be put out to pasture I was frankly very scared as I had no means to immediately procure a new car.  Fortunately, I had a AAA membership and opted to try the car buying service with no expectations of what was to come.  Carl telephoned me after I put in my web request and began the process of looking for a new vehicle.  I had no idea I would be able to get a brand new car!!!  Carl was so personable and understanding of my financial circumstances.  He went out and got EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED and managed the financial agreement so I could pay what I could afford!  I was astounded and so very pleased!

I thought I was going to have to spend the next two years driving a beige, dented 1993 Honda Civic with a bad muffler purchased off of Craigslist, when in fact I got a new car! 

Once I arrived at AAA in Tempe last Thursday he made the signing of the paperwork very easy to understand and completely efficient.  Carl is such a friendly person and so quick to help. I have been praising him to all of my friends and telling them to go see Carl when they need to purchase a new vehicle.  I really enjoyed working with Carl and plan to take care of my Forester so I can come back to Carl in 3 or 4 years to trade it in for an upgrade!

My husband and I just bought a 2005 GMC 4WD truck through Gerry Wilson at your AAA Thunderbird location.  Gerry was great.  I have never before had an enjoyable car/truck buying experience.  Gerry was informative and extremely helpful.  We told him we were moving to Strawberry, AZ by the end of January and he got right on the job looking for the vehicle we needed.  Within a few days we had a truck to look at and we fell in love with it right away.  He also arranged for the running boards we needed installed.

Gerry has plenty of room in his office for a printer and copier.  This would save time and pain for Gerry.  It also would look more professional when working with the all the paperwork involved.

Rebecca the cashier is the one that told us about Gerry's great abilities.  She said we would be happy with him.  She was correct.

We take all our vehicles to AAA for repairs needed and maintenance work.  Tim Hanson has been our rock there.  He is wonderful and helpful.  The mechanics are good at there jobs.

What a nice surprise! However, I think I should be sending you cookies. After all, you did all the work. The car is amazing, and I'm finding I'm walking farther, as I'm afraid of getting it scratched in parking lots!!   I'm toying with the idea of having a back up camera installed, but it is a little pricey. Most of my accidents have been in reverse.  I've already purchased a cover for the back seat,to protect the seats from my dog. Again, thank you for all your work and speedy purchase. Nevertheless, I came down from Las Vegas to buy a car via Gerry. Let me tell you the service was absolutely fantastic. Gerry is very thorough and professional with everything. The people he deals with, in this case Earnhardt Honda, were very professional as well. Keep in mind, I drove 5 1/2 hours to get down here to see a car that was only described to me, yet I had the confidence to know that this was the car I wanted. It was everything I expected and then some. The car is a Honda CR-V EX-L model. This is the first time I have ever bought any car. The car I previously drove was my high school Camry, so I have been driving that car for almost 11 years, which I sold the night I arrived in Phoenix. I just had to tell you how simply super fantastic Paul Leeman is. I just leased my second vehicle through him – a Nissan Murano. He is so positive, he’s knowledgeable, he anticipates issues, he’s efficient and absolutely on top of everything. He arranged cars for me to drive right from his office, he gave me comparison information so I could make an informed decision, he also gave me fleet contact people at both Nissan and Toyota to test drive other cars. Wow! He didn’t give up on me and patiently keep in communication.

Right before we made our decision, we returned to Riverview Nissan on a Friday evening. The fleet manager was not there and we had to go through the sales manager. We wanted to test drive the Murano at night. They bad mouthed the AAA auto services and tried to close us on a low ball offer that sounded too good to be true. I felt that their behavior reflected the negative and fear based sales approaches that some car sales people are known for. That is exactly the reason I don’t work with dealerships – they play games, they take way too long, and they create fear – if you don’t buy today. Paul was so professional and handled our questions. The following week, Paul had located the exact model and color I wanted and we picked it up right there at his office. The time it took to sign papers and get oriented to my new vehicle was 30 minutes. What a smooth and effortless process. I have a stack of Paul’s cards and I have again, let everyone I know, when buying or leasing a car – Paul is the man to work with. You must be so proud to have somebody like Paul Leeman working for you. He’s one in a million. He’s our guy!

I have been a member of AAA of Arizona for many years, and this week I have had my best experience ever.  I contacted Gerry Wilson Tuesday, May 19th to assist me in buying a van which I could convert to wheelchair accessible.  Gerry listened to me and explained my options.   He was able to acquire a used 2006 Chevy Uplander van, already converted, with less than 7,000 miles.  He assisted me with using the Toyota Matrix, I had bought with his assistance in 2008, as a trade in.  I had thought I would have to pay almost $50,000 and was able to walk away paying $8,180.15!  He looked at every resource, and he was able to lower the original price quoted twice.  I took delivery on Thursday, May 21st.  Gerry took the time to cancel my extended warranty on the Toyota and help me sign up for an extended warranty on the Chevy.   I have used many of the AAA services, roadside assistance, car maintenance services, trip-tics, travel reservations and travel accessories, as well as having my car insurance through AAA.  The car buying service is the best of all services offered, especially when dealing with a man like Gerry Wilson.  I am a senior citizen, living in Sun City, and have many times been treated like my brain died when my husband passed, and my hair grew gray.  Gerry greeted me in a timely manner, appointments are kept and promises are fulfilled.  He followed up with me this morning to make sure all was well.  Although the tires on my new Chevy van passed minimal standards, he had two front tires replaced for dry-rot, and knowing the heat in Arizona, had the AC charged to full capacity even though it also had passed minimum standards.  He was organized in dealing with paperwork and wasted no time, his or mine.  I know excellence when I see it as my Grandfather sold Chevy's for more than 40 years at Standard Chevrolet in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.  Like Gerry, he took care of his customers, and they and their families came back year after year.  A copy of this letter is being sent, along with Gerry's contact information to all my Arizona family and friends.  If you have an "Employee of the Year", I wholeheartedly recommend Gerry Wilson.  No one represents the great qualities of AAA better than Gerry.

I wanted to share with you my latest experience with buying a car through your Car Buying department.  I recently became a AAA member and was reviewing the many services it provides.  Like many others, I was amazed at all the different services that come with becoming a AAA member.  Since I was in the market of locating a new car I thought I would try out the Car Buying service that was offered. 

Over the years I have bought and sold many cars and have become tired of the tremendous hassle it is. Seeing that I might avoid all this, I thought I would try the Car Buying service that was being offered. I was suddenly in the market to purchase a larger used car due to the birth of my son and decided to utilize AAA Car Buying services as featured in the highroads magazine. I was assisted by consultant Mr. Paul Leeman in Phoenix AZ.   I was skeptical of this service at first assuming there would be some sort of additional expense or kick back that would hinder my chances for a great deal. Though we had heard ads of AAA Car Buying on the Prescott radio station, we were somewhat skeptical and fearful as we approached Mike in the Sun City West office.

We are now the owners of a Honda Civic which we like very much and we are very happy we made the decision to go this route.

Mike put us at ease with his manner and apparent knowledge of cars and the car business. He took time to listen to our thoughts on what we wanted for our usage and financial resources. He took the time to research various models we were thinking about and he talked in terms we understood. He arranged to get the value of the car we had and was back to us promptly with that information. Today I finalized the purchase of a Hyundai – Tucson.

All cars I owned, I sort of inherited and the most I ever paid for a car was $500. Needless to say, I was totally at loss of where to start and what to do.

I must say that Gerry Wilson was my "salvation". He was patient with me, totally stressed and somewhat hysterical as I was. He calmed me.
