Web survey to determine Colorado teen driving habits DENVER, August 21- In a recent national survey conducted by AAA, 46 percent of teens admitted to text messaging while driving, and 51 percent admitted to talking on their cell phone while driving. What about Colorado? Are teens in Colorado as prone to text messaging or engaging in other distracted driving habits as they appear to be nationally? AAA Colorado hopes to find out with a new online anonymous survey that it is sponsoring with its traffic safety partners-the Colorado State Patrol, Colorado Department of Transportation and the Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association. "The more teen drivers who take this survey, the more accurate a picture we will get of teen driving behaviors," says Wave Dreher, AAA Colorado's traffic safety specialist. "This will help teen advocates better fashion more targeted, effective educational messages about driving safety." Survey participants who register can win a new Dell XPS laptop computer and 100 registered survey participants will randomly be chosen to receive a $10 gift certificate provided by Beau Jo's Colorado Style Pizza. The online survey can be found at www.aaa.com/teens until September 21. A downloadable informational flyer, as well as the drawing's rules and details can be found at the same website address. AAA Colorado and its safety partners will hold a press conference this fall to announce the results of the survey. AAA Colorado has more than 500,000 members in Colorado and more than 50 milion nationwide. It is an advocate for safety and security for all travelers.
