AAA Great Battery Roundup
Bring out your batteries!
Do you have old car batteries lying around in your yard or garage? Many of the components in automotive and marine lead-acid batteries can be recycled, including 99% of the lead.
An automotive battery, also referred to as a lead-acid battery, contains about 21 pounds of lead, three pounds of plastic and one gallon of sulfuric acid. These items can be toxic if handled improperly.
During the week of April 16 - 21, in conjunction with Earth Day, AAA Colorado has organized this year's Great Battery Roundup. This free annual event is an opportunity for members and the public to drop off their used lead-acid batteries for shipment to recycling plants.
