Report of the Nominating Committee

To Tony DeNovellis, president, Rocky Mountain Motorists, Inc. Your nominating committee reports that it has nominated Robert "Bob" Greene and Stephanie L. Garcia for three-year terms for the office of director of our organization, commencing August 2001.

Annual Board of Directors Elections

In August 2001, AAA Colorado will elect directors for the Club. The Club's nominating committee nominates directors. Individuals nominated to serve on the Club's board of directors are chosen based on their commitment to the Club's multifaceted operations, their community leadership and their business experience and expertise.

Directors' Profiles

Lee E. Schlessman
A 30-year AAA member and a director since 1986, Lee Schlessman currently serves as board chairman. From 1954-1993, Lee served as chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and director of Greeley Gas Company. Currently, he is president and director of Dolo Investment Company and president and trustee of the Schlessman Family Foundation. Lee also serves on the boards of Atmos Energy Company, YMCA of the Rockies and is treasurer and trustee of the Scottish Rite Foundation. In 1984 he was inducted into the YMCA Hall of Fame. Lee's leadership continues to be invaluable to the Club's current operations and its future.

Gary J. DeFrange
Gary DeFrange is president/CEO of Winter Park Resort, the nation's largest independently owned ski resort. His career includes 27 years in the banking industry, most recently as president/COO and director of the First National Bank of Greeley. Gary is active in several community organizations including the National Sports Center for the Disabled, the Grand County Housing Authority, Year One Youth Corps, and Colorado Ski Country U.S.A.


Clark Ewald
Joining the Club's board in 1991, Clark is completing his third term. Before a distinguished 35-year career with the Public Service Company of Colorado, Clark served as president of Home Light and Power Company in Greeley. He also served as Public Service Company's vice president of employee relations, and in 1987, he was appointed senior vice president, customers-the position he held until retirement. Clark currently serves on the board of Encorp in Windsor, Colorado and is a trustee of the Emily Griffith Center Foundation and the Denver Rotary Foundation.

Stephanie L. Garcia
Stephanie L. Garcia presently oversees the operations of DecoDevelop-ment, a real estate investment and development company she founded in 1997. Stephanie has more than 14 years of business and financial management experience. Her experience includes executive positions with Jones International, LTD., the corporate parent of multiple subsidiaries in the Internet, e-commerce, software, education, entertainment, radio, and cable television programming industries. She also has held top management and consultant positions with U.S. West Cable Communications, Spensley & Associates, and the City and County of Denver's Finance Department.

Robert "Bob" Greene
Bob Greene joined the Club's board in 1994. His professional career includes 36 years with Safeway stores. In his long and successful retailing career, Bob also gained considerable experience in marketing and employee relations, as well as financial and operations management. Bob also serves on the board of directors of Vectra Banks.

Judith D. Judd
A board member since 1994, Judith is an attorney with Fairfield and Woods, P.C. She focuses her practice on estate planning, business succession, trust administration, probate, will contests, non-profits and foundations. She also practices in the area of commercial real estate. She is a member of the Probate and Trust Law Sections of the Colorado Bar Association and the American Bar Association, a member of the Rocky Mountain Estate Planning Council and a director of the Kempe Children's Foundation. In addition, Judith is a member of the Digital Signature Committee of the American Bar Association (Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law), a member of the Colorado Women's Bar Association, and a director of the Young Americans Education Foundation.

Paul Pennock
Paul Pennock is president of Zeiler-Pennock, Inc./OHA, an architectural-engineering firm specializing in the design of industrial and commercial buildings. Paul's professional focus includes marketing, personnel and client service. He is a former president and officer of the Structural Engineers Association of Colorado. In addition, he has held leadership positions with several community organizations including the Mile High Kiwanis Club and the Southglenn Country Club.

Steve Seay
Steve Seay completed nine years of service with AAA Colorado, including seven years as president and chief executive officer. Prior to joining AAA Colorado, Steve amassed more than 25 years of executive management experience, serving as chairman of the board and chief executive officer of International Bancorp. His banking resume also includes tenure as a bank president, senior lending officer and senior vice president. Community development was a special interest of Steve's and he was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club and Economic Development Corporation Committee of Englewood.

Frank Velzen
A Club director since 1993, Frank Velzen works as a consultant for many national and international food companies, as well as the Biscuit and Cracker Association in Washington, D.C. Frank's career as an industry advisor began after 37 years with the Keebler Company. He has worked with Kraft, Oscar Mayer, McDonald's, Kellogg's, and other national food companies. He is also a former director of Key Savings and Loan. Frank has also served in leadership roles on the boards of Bethesda PsycHealth Foundation and Bethesda PsycHealth Hospital. Additionally, he is a director of the Calvary Drug and Rehabilitation Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Team Up for Traffic Safety

AAA has teamed up with the Colorado Rapids Major League Soccer Club to promote Traffic Safety Awareness. Join other AAA members at the original Mile High Stadium at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2001 for Traffic Safety Night and watch the Colorado Rapids take on the Tampa Bay Mutiny and its superstar Carlos Valderrama.

Tickets for this special event are only $13 for AAA members. To order, call 303-299-1583. If you prefer, you can show your AAA membership card at the Mile High Stadium box office on game day (May 12) to receive $3 off any ticket. Attention Art Lovers: AAA Members Receive Discount for Denver Art Museum's European Masterpieces

Coming next month, AAA Colorado will be a sponsor of a major new exhibition at the Denver Art Museum, European Masterpieces: Six Centuries of Paintings from the National Gallery of Victoria, Australia.
