AAA Dares You...
You may be wondering, "What is there for me to do now? My teen is several months away from getting their permit." Well, that may be the case, but you can do a lot during this time. In fact, start by attending AAA's new workshop called Dare to Prepare — and bring your teen! Dare to Prepare is a fun and exciting way to help your family prepare for the learning-to-drive process. An interactive workshop, Dare to Prepare targets issues that you and your teen will face as they move from the passenger's seat to the driver's seat. The program focuses on concepts and messages that may not necessarily be covered in traditional driver's education courses, such as:
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 7,640 young drivers between the ages of 15 and 20 were killed in traffic crashes during 2005. This is a big event in you and your child's life and one that should not be taken lightly. Start learning what you can do today to help reduce the risks to your teen by attending one of our presentations being held in various locations throughout our territory. (See upcoming scheduled dates above.) Space is limited and pre-registration is greatly appreciated but not required.
