Club Emphasizes Importance of Energy Discussions Among
Presidential Candidates
Indianapolis, IN (March
13, 2008) – As
the city of Indianapolis prepares for an anticipated visit
by Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama this
Saturday, AAA Hoosier Motor Club wants to emphasize the
importance of energy-based discussions among all
Presidential candidates.
“We’re now in the process of
re-establishing nationwide all-time record high averages for
gasoline on almost a daily basis and here in Indiana, we’re
within 12 cents of a new record-high average for self-serve
regular,” said Greg Seiter, public affairs manager for AAA
Hoosier Motor Club. “We’re very concerned about the rising
financial pressure that fuel costs are placing on Hoosier
families as well as millions of others nationwide.
“Senator Obama’s visit to
the state this weekend provides an excellent opportunity for
him to initiate much-needed discussions by all Presidential
candidates over the energy challenges facing this country.
“We strongly believe that
our Presidential candidates should each be clearly
articulating long-term, comprehensive energy strategies so
voters can understand how they plan to address this key
issue.”
Indiana will hold its
Presidential primary May 6.
