Setting sail has never been more attractive. The ships of 2002 are supported by a team of world leading architects and designers. The new ships this year are not only luxurious but also exemplify attention to detail and warm and friendly personal service. There are four new cruise ships to choose from: Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Star; Royal Caribbean International's Adventure of the Seas; Crystal Cruise's Serenity; and Carnival Cruise Line's Pride. Each ship offers unique entertainment and amenities. Here’s a look at each new ship!

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) introduced the new ship, the Norwegian Star, in December 2001. The Norwegian Star is NCL’s largest ship, accommodating 2,200 passengers. The Norwegian Star sets new standards in its cabins, with rich cherry wood finishing, tea and coffee makers in every room, and a much larger bathroom unit than other ships, containing shower, and washstand. With thirty-six suites, 372 standard staterooms with balconies, and an entire deck of 107 mini-suites with balconies, the Norwegian Star is among the most spacious ship today. The Norwegian Star will be the only seven-day round-trip Hawaiian ship to include the four main islands, Oahu, Hawaii, Maui and Kauai plus an exclusive day at Fanning Island, an exotic Micronesian island to the south of Hawaii.

Royal Caribbean International’s (RCI) Adventure of the Seas is a revolutionary marvel of naval engineering. Passengers can enjoy first-time cruise features like a skating rink, a street fair, and a rock-climbing wall to name a few. Adventure of the Seas is part of the Royal Caribbean’s Voyager class ships and can carry 3,114 guests. Innovations on the ship represent the highest space-per-guest ratio in the cruise market and include enhanced staterooms, expanded dining options, and exceptional recreational facilities. Adventure of the Seas sails the Southern Caribbean roundtrip from San Juan.

Crystal Cruises’ third vessel is named the Crystal Serenity and is scheduled for delivery in summer 2003. Crystal Serenity will provide innovative additions to an award-winning formula of luxury choice, unparalleled quality and unwavering service. Crystal Serenity can carry 1,080 guests and her unique features include: five evening dining choices, including the addition of a sushi bar and casual evening deck menu to their already favorite Italian and Asian specialty restaurants, and the Crystal Dining Room. Other new features on Crystal Cruises’ third ship are two paddle tennis courts, a Creative Learning Center to facilitate a range of interactive educational classes, and a classic boardroom with wine cellar. There is also an expanded Computer University @Sea classroom, which is 50% larger than the facilities of Crystal’s current fleet. The classroom will house a 24-hour Internet center and private area for computer use.

Carnival Cruise Line’s new ship the Carnival Pride debuts this month. Carnival Pride combines the very best features of Fantasy and Destiny class ships to create an entirely new "Fun Ship" experience. Carnival "Fun Ships" offer a world-class casino, a variety of dining and entertainment options, and health and beauty treatments. Eighty percent of Carnival Pride’s staterooms have ocean views and sitting areas, with eighty percent of those rooms featuring two sizes of private balconies. Carnival Pride has an open, airy environment which gives you a greater sense of the land, the sky and the sea. Carnival Pride is the newest, longest and fastest new star of the "Fun Ship" fleet.
