A quick left out of the grist mill to town hall leads you to the famed Sandwich Glass Museum, where you can marvel at the magic of glass being hand-blown before your very eyes. Then, take a left out of the museum and head to picturesque Main Street, lined with historic homes and boasting a sidewalk wide enough for strollers. From Jarves Street, the beautiful Sandwich Boardwalk is a healthy 1.5 mile jaunt—or you can finally hop back in your car to complete the trip. Simply Cross Route 6A on Jarves, take a left at the end on Factory Street, a right on Harbor, and follow the signs to the Boardwalk. A short walk down the planks leads you to gorgeous Town Neck Beach, and there’s a beautiful inlet for kayakers here, too.
Finally, once you’ve had enough sun and fun, travel just a mile outside Sandwich town center, where you’ll find the Heritage Museum and Gardens. Gardening buffs will love the acres of azaleas and rhododendron, and auto enthusiasts will admire the antique car collection here.
