Elliniko Paithíko Mouseío (Hellenic Children's Museum)

( Highly Recommended )

This is an enjoyable new venture, although small and a little improvised as yet. Its maze of rooms includes work rooms, play rooms and displays on such subjects as the building of the new Athens metro lines. This allows children to don hard hats and wield shovels as they do their bit to speed up the metro's progress. Other fun activities include the ancient (dressing up in old clothes) to the modern (a computer). Contact the museum for current details. Although some of the staff speak English and other languages, and welcome all children, advance notice for visits by non-Greek-speaking children is advisable.
