It's a noisy, bustling port, one of the biggest in the Mediterranean, and many of the inter-island boats leave from its harbor. It boasts a magnificent cathedral, rebuilt after World War II; a fine archeological museum; and Greece's naval museum. Sunday is a good day to browse in the flea market.
