Airports have inbound duty-free stores. There are duty-free allowances for those over 18 years of age. Alcohol: spirits: 1.125L Cigarettes: 250 or Tobacco: 250gm Perfume or toilet water: no limit but a duty/tax free allowance of $A400 per person over 18 and $A200 per person under 18 is available for goods intended as gifts. These articles must accompany you through customs and must not be intended for commercial purposes. There are no restrictions on the import or export of Australian currency although a report form must be completed for amounts over $A10,000.
