Hunter Valley

( Do not miss )

Wine and wineries are the main attraction of this large river valley northwest of Sydney, centred around the town of Cessnock and the village of Pokolbin. Grapes have been cultivated here since the 1830s and there are now over 100 wineries in the region; many of these can be toured and you can, of course, sample the fine wines that originate from the area. The Hunter also has a reputation for excellent accommodation and dining, making it a very popular weekend destination for Sydneysiders.
