Parliament House

( Do not miss )

Canberra's architectural and political centrepiece was completed in 1988, at a staggering cost of over $1,000 million. It contains the House of Representatives and the Senate, public areas featuring fine artworks and craftsmanship. Guided tours are available, and the view from the roof is superb. Also in this Parliamentary Triangle area stands the more modest 1927 Old Parliament House, now housing the National Portrait Gallery.
