Melbourne Cricket Ground

( Do not miss )

Visiting this most hallowed of Australia's sporting venues is a must. The city's famous cricket ground, known as the MCG, was the site of the first Australia-England test match in 1877 and the main stadium for the 1956 Olympic Games. Today, the 100,000-capacity ground is used for both cricket and Australian Rules Football, and contains the excellent Olympic and MCC Cricket museums.
