ELECTRICITY
Belgium has a 220-volt power supply. Electrical sockets take plugs with two round pins; American appliances will need a plug
adapter and will require a transformer if they do not have a dual-voltage facility.
RESTROOMS
Public restrooms (toilettes/toilets) are not always easy to find, but are usually clean. If you need to use the facilities
at a restaurant or café purchase a drink first. Restrooms in the larger restaurants and cafés sometimes have attendants; you
should tip them 25-50¢, which goes toward their wages.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Belgium is not renowned for bright sunshine, so pack plenty of 200 ASA-speed film. Check that flash photography is permitted
before taking pictures in museums. Film and camera batteries are readily available from tourist stores. Rapid-developing services
are also widely available.
