Tibidabo and Serra De Collserola

( Highly Recommended )

The 550m-high Mont Tibidabo forms the northwestern boundary of Barcelona and boasts panoramic views over the entire city, and, on exceptionally clear days, Mallorca.
At its summit, and topped by a huge statue of Christ, stands the modern Church of the Sacred Heart (Sagrat Cor), whose style is probably best described as 'neo-Gothic fantasy'. Near by, the 'Magic Mountain' Amusement Park cleverly balances traditional rides with high-tech attractions on several levels of the mountaintop, and is always a fun day out for the family. Tibidabo is just one of the mountains of the Collserola
range, a wonderful 6,550ha nature reserve with extensive woodlands full of wildlife. It is best reached by FGC train to Baixador de Vallvidrera. From here, it is a 10-minute walk uphill to the information centre, where details of clearly marked itineraries for walkers and cyclists are available.
