This striking Modernista building is considered Lluís Domènech i Montaner's most exuberant decorative work. Its flamboyant façade cleverly minimises the corner by placing visual emphasis on ornate circular balconies, columned galleries and oriel windows.
Inside, a florid pink mosaic vestibule and open staircase lead to the first-floor living quarters, lavishly decorated with stencilled stuccowork, stained glass, marquetry and mosaics, portraying roses (the nationalist symbol of Catalonia), lions (lleó) and mulberry bushes (morera).
