Life in the City You may feel intimidated at first by the hectic pace of the busy streets, but Brussels is genuine “old Europe” at heart - open, friendly and welcoming. Life between the busy boulevards is engagingly relaxed. There is a wonderful variety about Brussels, a sense of its being several urban “villages” within a whole. The heart of the city lies within a barrier of encircling main roads known as the petit ring. You should be able to reach the inner city's finest features easily, and you should have no difficulty finding your way around; another option is to join one of the many guided tours. For areas outside the petit ring use the city's subway system, one of the easiest ways of getting around greater Brussels. |
