St. Ursula
North of the city center is the church of St. Ursula; it was named after the daughter of a fourth-century king of Britain,
who was said to have been killed in the city by Huns, along with her 11,000 virgin companions. The popularity of the cult
of St. Ursula contributed to the city's development as a center of pilgrimage, and she appears in the Cologne coat of arms.
The church sacristan can provide visitor access to the baroque Goldene Kammer (Golden Chamber).
