Help with your Kids
The Edinburgh and Lothians Tourist Board will send you advance information on children's events and activities, as well as
recommending child-friendly accommodation. Edinburgh for Under Fives, available from local bookshops, is a useful publication.
Baby-sitting can be arranged by the top hotels or contact Edinburgh Crèche Co-op (0131 553 2116), who can organise a baby-sitter
or even take the children off your hands for the day.
School Holidays Scottish school holiday dates differ from English ones, so it makes sense to plan a trip with kids when Scots children are in school, and children's attractions less crowded. Summer sees the main differences; Scottish schools break up at the end of June and go back mid-August, leaving a whole month (which covers the Festival dates) when Scottish children are back in the classroom and English ones still free. |
