It's a huge collection, with full-size boats and royal barges, paintings, uniforms and archaic navigational instruments. Most evocative, perhaps, is the polychrome wooden statue of the Archangel Raphael, said to have accompanied Vasco da Gama on his epic voyage to the Indies in 1497.
