Set into the side of a hill, this rectangular park northwest of the Palacio Real has recently been renovated. The broad and elegant Paseo del Pintor Rosales runs along one side; the Ermita de San Antonio de la Florida stands at the bottom of the slope. At the southern end is La Rosaleda, a rose garden which is at its best in May, and the Parque de la Montaña. Its temple was a gift from the Egyptian government. This is also the start of the Teleférico. The park is best avoided at night.
