The Feldherrnhalle (Military Commanders' Hall) was added as a tribute to the Bavarian army, and is guarded by two bronze lions. Overlooking Odeonsplatz is the lovely baroque, golden-stone Theatinerkirche, the church where Wittelsbach family members were laid to rest. The immaculate gardens of Hofgarten are next to the square.
