Stores open from 11 a.m. on Monday and close at 5 on Saturday. In Amsterdam many stores open Sunday noon-7 and in The Hague and Rotterdam noon-5. In other Dutch cities stores open one Sunday a month. Larger city stores stay open until 9 p.m. on Thursday or Friday. In rural areas many stores close for lunch. Banks generally open at 1 p.m. Monday. Post offices also are open 9-noon or 12:30 on Saturday. Some city post offices stay open into the evening (Thursday or Friday). There is an all-night post office in Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, Amsterdam. Out-of-town post offices and banks may have shorter hours. Museums and monuments usually are open 1-5 on Sunday; some may close on Monday. In rural areas they may be closed October through March.
