( Highly Recommended )

Spread over 25ha, these landscaped gardens include both native bush and exotic plants, and there is also a tulip display each spring. The Lady Norwood Rose Garden with more than 100 different species of rose and a Begonia House are additional features.
At the top of the hill (near the top cable-car terminal) is the New Zealand Astronomy Centre, with a planetarium, astronomy displays, and a hands-on area.
