Kahurangi National Park
(

)
Formerly called Northwest Nelson Forest Park, this is the second largest national park in New Zealand.
Largely mountainous with very few roads through it, the park is known for the Heaphy Track, a 77km walking route. Forest and
bush-clad countryside covers the marble and limestone karst country, which is riddled with extensive cave systems, most of
which are closed to the public.
