Things To Know Oslo Through History The City's Stage Exploring Oslo Nobel Peace Prize	Nobel Peace Prize The Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded in Oslo rådhus (Oslo City Hall) since 1990. The award was founded at the end of the 19th century by Swedish inventor and industrialist Alfred Bernhard Nobel. The Peace Prize winner is decided on criteria in Nobel's will citing “the person(s) who shall have done the most or the best work for brother-hood between nations,….” The ceremony takes place each year on December 10, the anniversary of Nobel's death.
