It forms the southern side of Radcliffe Square. The early 14th-century tower rises above Oxford's dreaming spires, domes and cupolas. The south porch, facing High Street, is a 17th-century addition that trumpeted Italian influence with its twisted columns and heavily decorated segmental arch. The interior of the church is filled with monuments and wall tablets. You can plod up the tower as far as the base of the spire for fine views over Oxford. The climb is narrow and steep, and the up and down flow of people can cause traffic jams, although there is a resting place with benches in the bell room about halfway up.
