ELECTRICITY
Almost all of Portugal has a 220-volt power supply. Electrical sockets take plugs with two round pins; American appliances
will need a plug adapter and a transformer if they do not have a dual-voltage facility.
RESTROOMS
Public restrooms (retretes or lavabos) are easy to find. Ladies' (senhoras) restrooms usually have a minimal charge
and are generally clean. Men's (homens) restrooms are usually free.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Finding adequate light is rarely a problem in Portugal; rise early for atmospheric shots of fishing ports, villages, castles
and the mountains. You will not be permitted to photograph at airports or military areas, and ask permission before taking
pictures in museums and churches. Popular brands of film and batteries are widely available.
