This open-air museum comprises a huge three dimensional map of France on which 166 miniature historic monuments have been arranged into a harmonious whole, partly re-creating the atmosphere inherent to each place; for instance the Château de Chenonceau reflected in the calm waters of the Loire suggests the peaceful atmosphere of the Loire Valley. There are models of the Tour Eiffel, the Sacré Coeur, the solitary Mont-St-Michel, the pont du Gard and Gallo-Roman arenas, as well as many beautiful castles, all made to a scale of 1:30. Here and there, a typical French village focuses on ordinary daily life.
