Festivals in Seville Eating Southern Style Mantillas and Castanets Flamenco |
Eating Southern Style Eating is a pleasure in Seville, with a wide range of restaurants and tapas bars. More than almost anywhere else in Spain, tapas has a special place here. There's a fabulous choice of dishes, traditionally eaten with a glass of copa, or sherry, the fortified wine from Jerez - a lovely city south of Seville. Mealtimes are late, particularly in summer, with lunch often finishing around 4 or 5 and dinner starting at midnight. The more cosmopolitan restaurants are geared to foreigners' dining habits. Andalucian coffee is very strong, so it's best to ask for a café con agua (coffee with water) if you like it weaker. |
