Museo de Bellas Artes

Seville's Museo de Bellas Artes (Fine Arts Museum), housed in an 18th-century convent built around three courtyards, concentrates on the Golden Age of Spanish painting. The former church is devoted to the Spanish religious painter Bartolome Murillo, and pride of place is given to his Immaculate Conception. Francisco de Zurbarán, another great master, also is well represented, his masterpiece being the stark, sculptural Christ on the Cross.
