What to photograph: Temples, mountains, hill tribes, festivals, markets, rural life, canal and river life.

Best time to photograph:

The weather is sunny and clear between November and March, although photography is possible all year round.

Where to buy film: Film and batteries of all types are readily available from shops and airports. Processing facilities are good.

WHEN DEPARTING

Contact the airport 72 hours before leaving to ensure flights are unchanged. Arrive 90 minutes before your flight departure time, with 500 baht for departure tax.

Check you have official permission to take out antiques and Buddhist images.

Allow plenty of time to get to the airport. A public bus could take up to two hours to get to Don Muang Airport from central Bangkok, depending on the time of day.
