Baw Sang Umbrella Village

( Highly Recommended )

This village is devoted to the manufacture and sale of painted and lacquered paper umbrellas. Almost every household seems to be involved in the business. Visitors can visit the many workshops to see how the umbrellas are made and are welcome to take photos. Fans, silverware, bamboo and teak furniture, celadon and lacquerware are also made. There is even a local Muslim family making fans decorated with verses from the Koran.
