Merchant Adventurers' Hall
This medieval Guild Hall is the finest of its kind to survive in Europe. Its brick and timber-framed exterior, the vast, open
timber work of the Great Hall and the interior paneling effortlessly transport visitors from the present into a convincing
medieval environment. The hall was built from 1357 to 1361 by a religious fraternity that evolved into a merchants' guild,
which survives today as a charitable organization and guardian of this outstanding building.
