Lombard “The Lilac Village” is located 21 minutes west of Chicago. Lilacia Park, 150 S. Park Ave., formerly a lilac garden bequeathed by Colonel William R. Plum, boasts some 1,200 lilacs and 25,000 tulips. Lilac Time , a 15-day festival in early May, is held in the park and downtown. Dr. William LeRoy House, 119 N. Main St., an Italianate-style house built in 1881, was home to Harold Gray, the Little Orphan Annie cartoon creator. Yorktown Center, 203 Yorktown Center, is a shopper's paradise with 150 specialty stores, several restaurants and movie theaters.
