Built as a tribute to local cattle feeders, Albert the Bull is a 30-foot-high, 45-ton statue of a Hereford bull. Visible day and night from US 71 just south of town, the statue was named in honor of local banker Al Kruse, who initiated cattle loans and encouraged the community's early farms. At the push of a button, Albert tells his story.
A bronze statue of John James Audubon featuring inlaid bird mosaics is in City Park Plaza; murals depicting his life are in the Andrew Carnegie Library and the John James Audubon Cultural Center. The Audubon County Veterans Memorial on the courthouse lawn honors the men and women who have served in the military.
