Aylesford was settled in 1784 by United Empire Loyalists, who named the community for the Fourth Earl of Aylesford, Lord of the Bedchamber to King George III. Here, at the highest point in the Annapolis Valley, the waters of the Annapolis River wind through fertile meadows and fruit orchards.
