DescriptionBellefonte is built on several hills at the base of Bald Eagle Mountain. Many of the town's homes are fine examples of early Victorian architecture. Known as the Home of Governors, seven of the town's residents have become governors of Pennsylvania and other states. Several times per year, the Bellefonte Historical Railroad carries passengers through some of central Pennsylvania's most scenic landscapes; phone (814) 355-1053.
If you're interested in catch and release fly-fishing for trout, head to Fisherman's Paradise on Spring Creek Road, which parallels much of Spring Creek. A state fishing license is required; fishing is permitted daily dawn to dusk. For more information and location details phone (610) 369-0464 for Fisherman's Paradise, and (814) 359-5250 or (877) 707-4085 for the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.
