Description
Boonsboro was founded in 1792 by George and William Boone, cousins of Daniel Boone. The town prospered during the early 1800s thanks to its facilities serving the westward-bound pioneers taking the wagon road through town. The road would later become the National Pike. Stonewall Jackson and J.E.B. Stuart fought Civil War battles in the area.
