Description
François and Charlitte LeBlanc were among a group of deported Acadian settlers who arrived in Bouctouche in 1785. The Mi'kmaq Indians referred to the area as “Chebooktoosk,” or “big little harbor.” Bouctouche was the birthplace of industrialist K.C. Irving, who took over the family sawmill company and expanded it into one of Canada's biggest post-World War II business conglomerates.
