DescriptionThe Wasatch Range provides a towering backdrop for Brigham City, originally called Box Elder. The settlement was renamed in 1856 for Brigham Young, who delivered his last public address here in 1877. Artifacts from the early days of Mormon settlement can be seen at the Brigham City Museum and at Golden Spike National Historic Site, 32 miles west.
Some of Utah's finest peaches, apricots and cherries are grown in this fertile delta region, and from July to mid-September fruit stands line a 10-mile section of SR 89 known as the Golden Spike Fruitway.
