DescriptionThe western terminus of the railroad in 1856, Coralville was the campsite for 1,500 Mormons readying for the arduous trek on foot to Salt Lake City; a small memorial park and two markers commemorate the effort. High on a knoll overlooking the Iowa River valley, the Iowa Firefighters Memorial is a tribute to those who died in the line of duty.
