DescriptionEagle River is in an all-year resort area. The Eagle chain of lakes, consisting of 28 navigable lakes, is one of the best known boating and fishing areas in northern Wisconsin, and in winter the Eagle River vicinity boasts 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails. At 519 Sheridan St. E. is the Trees for Tomorrow Natural Resource Specialty School, which has a self-guiding demonstration forest trail; phone (715) 479-6456.
The U.S. Forest Service maintains about 40 miles of cross-country ski trails in nearby Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest; there also are 600 miles of groomed trails in the area.
