Description
Divided by a mountain of traprock, East Granby was settled in 1710 in a region originally known as Turkey Hills. The country's first commercially successful silver plating process was perfected in 1845 by Asa Rogers for the Cowles Co. Rogers later moved to Hartford and established the Rogers Brothers trademark in 1847.
The Congregational Church, at SRs 20 and 187, was built in 1830 in the Gothic style and bears a distinctive wooden belfry and pinnacles.
