DescriptionOnce a center for cattle ranches, Glendive is now a distribution point for diverse agricultural products. The surrounding area is rich in petroleum, natural gas and coal. Another natural resource, the boneless paddlefish, roams the bottom of the Yellowstone River in such numbers that Glendive has assumed the title of “Paddlefish Capital.” Paddlefish season is mid-May to late June. Besides anglers, Glendive attracts rock hounds in search of moss agates and fossils, which are plentiful in the area.
