Grandview, in the lower Yakima Valley, is named for the spectacular westward view of Mount Rainier and Mount Adams. The fertile soil of the valley enhances the bounty of such local crops as apples, asparagus, corn, hops, grapes, peaches and cherries.
The Ray E. Powell Museum, 115 W. Wine Country Rd., has displays of weapons, war veterans memorabilia, Native American artifacts and early household utensils and furnishings. A 1902 Kiblinger automobile is said to be one of only two in existence. The museum is open by appointment; phone (509) 882-9219.
