DescriptionNamed in 1824 for a local plantation, Greenwood became the seat of its namesake county in 1897. Cotton growing and textile manufacturing contributed to early growth.
Held in June, the South Carolina Festival of Flowers offers garden tours, topiary displays and horticultural learning opportunities as well as kid-friendly activities, arts and crafts, and live bluegrass music.
