Haliburton is a recreational center in the Haliburton Highlands, a region of more than 600 lakes scattered among hills, cliffs and forests. Skyline Park, .5 kilometres (.3 mi.) east on Hwy. 121, affords excellent views of the surrounding terrain. Summertime outdoor diversions include bicycling, fishing, golfing and hiking, while dog-sledding, skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling are popular during the colder months.
